Beginner golf tips

Golf Swing basics can be broken down into a few key points. Your stance, aim, back swing, and follow through. If any of these points are not in sync then there’s a good chance the ball isn’t going to go where you want it to. One of the easiest golf tips for a beginner is to learn how to aim correctly.

Aim

Rather then aiming at a target a couple of hundred yards away start behind your golf ball and locate a spot on the fairway or tee box that is a couple of feet in front of the ball and in line with the target. Make sure it’s a noticeable spot as you’ll need to be able to see it after you address the ball to swing as well. After you’re in your stance and ready to swing check your aim to ensure you’re squared to the spot you chose on the fairway in line with your final target. This does two things for you, the first is it ensures you can concentrate on hitting the ball rather then having to look up to check your aim, and increases your confidence that the ball is going to go where you want it to. Grip

This is one of the best golf tips for beginner players. If you struggle with a slice then this grip tip can help. Next time you grip a long iron or wood take a look down at your grip. How many knuckles can you see on your top hand? If you can’t see three knuckles then try this adjustment. Turn your grip in towards your body, keeping your hands facing each other rotate your top hand back until you can see three knuckles. This is what’s known as a strong grip. It helps to close the club face faster during the down swing, ensuring that the club face comes back square to the ball at impact.

Golf putting tip

We don’t always realize it when we’re a beginner golfer but one of the most important parts of the game you can focus on is putting. It is usually at 50-60% of any holes total strokes for your score. This is a simple golf tip for beginner players to help you put more accurately. It’s important when you’re putting that you swing from the shoulders not the wrists. Swinging the putter from your wrists means you can lose control of the the club head path. Now to help you better swing using your shoulders try this. Think of forming a capital letter Y with your arms, grip the putter and open your upper arms so that they spread wide open. Think that if you were to look at yourself front on your upper arms and and putter would form a letter Y. This helps concentrate the point of movement on your shoulders rather then your wrists helping to keep your putter on the correct path during the back swing and follow through.
