Improve your golf swing

Many of us start playing golf for the same reason. To reduce stress we pick up through our work week. We want to have a relaxing time, however often times once we get out on the course we experience the exact opposite. Learning to Improve your golf swing isn’t so de-stressing, but until we perfect our golf swing we might find the game to cause more stress then it relieves.

Tips to help improve your golf swing.

Grip your club not to firmly with your left hand (pending your a righty golfer) so your thumb lies along the club. The line between your index finger and thumb should be pointing towards your right eye. Take your right (or left hand if you’re a lefty) and wrap it over your other hand so your thumb fits in the cup of your opposite hand.

Fine tune your stance as you address the ball by pointing your knees slighting inwards. Have your leading foot pointing straight ahead and your rear foot slightly inwards.

Based on a right handed swing bring your arms and elbows close together. Your right elbow should be pointing directly at your right hip, and your left elbow positioned directly below your left hip.

Bring the club back through your back swing first with your hands then followed by your arms then shoulders.

To begin your downswing rotate your hips backwards towards the ball. IF your swing does not start from your hips it will not have maximum power. When the club makes contact with the golf ball your left wrist bone should be pointing at the ball.

To Improve your golf swing you must practice as much as possible.

Improving your golf swing can be very frustrating at first. With a lack of power in your swing from the right technique the ball may not go very far at all. Improve your golf swing with practice and time. While you can study the correct technique from a book or video, to really improve your golf swing you need to be out there practicing, and observing others that already have it figured out.

Now while I did just say practice practice practice is the best thing to help your golf swing, you shouldn’t become obsessed with it. Golf is a game played by most of us for recreational purposes first. To improve you golf swing relaxing during practice and play is a important as tightening up and stressing on the situation won’t allow your body the right range of movement for maximum performance.
